The burden of memories

The BIG folder of memories in your system would usually store first day in college, first bunk, best birthday, first love, first break up, first failure, first win, first night out, first hangover and maybe not just the firsts of everything but everything that comes first to your mind when you think about that topic, that time, that feeling, that state or that someone.

It is very human to relate everything to himself, his own life. I know I can't generalize it but I can be sure bot myself. What adds to this stupidity is the habit of clinging on to things, n for me 'things' embrace mostly everything. Sometimes, I just want to find that 'Delete' button inside me n clear up the system, but its just too dark inside.

I sometimes feel that its not the mind that stores all these things. Memories pile up in your heart. This is the only reason why you are baffled when u need to make a trade off, take a decision or just choose. The problem is we can't weigh them, cant identify which is more important. N the heart usually gives a keyhole view to a situation...you can only see what it wants you to see.

Why is it that some people keep hooking themselves from what they have lived. At this i think bot the rock climber who keep hooking himself so that he doesn't fall...but again its one hook at a time. Then I think bot the adventure lovers who go into the deepest of caves but they do it with a motive of finding the safe way back. What motive do we have? Why cant we live 'no strings attached'? Is it just because we are too scared cuz life doesn't give us an UNDO option or is it something else...

Hey,

I must say that you summarized exactly whats been my state for years now :-)... i think to you last line... its not about the UNDO button... its about an insecurity, its about losing out on someone with whom you have shared the best of moments, be it parents, friends, the person you may love or even your favourite childhood toy! I wish we could have the CTRL button more prominent in ourselves so that we could take control of our lives in a better manner and not let it wander like a nomad.

All in all a great beginning to your blog. And i am fortunate to be the first one to comment on it! Looking forward to reading more.

A seemingly true description of how we refuse to give up on our old thoughts/ things/ memories/ attachments..but as u say, moving on is the key...failure teaches u..so I would say, unlock the 'scroll lock' button in life n MOVE ON!!!!!
